We all know Tyrese likes to speak his mind, so it’s no surprise he has lots to say about F. Gary Gray directing the next “Fast & Furious” film. HipHollywood caught up with Tyrese down in New Orleans during the Essence Festival and found out what he thinks about the new director and what fans can expect from “Fast & Furious 8.”
“We gotta lot of new people, but most of all I’m excited about what F. Gary Gray, the director, is bringing to it,” said Tyrese who missed his set during Essence Festival because of filming. “You know we are both from South Central, so it’s a lot of the same inspiration happening. We knew a lot of the same teachers, walked the same streets, for him to come off “Straight Outta Compton” and come onto the biggest movie Universal has ever made in history. I’m inspired by the inspiration we are about to spread.”
Filming got underway in May, and so far shooting has taken place in Iceland, Cleveland and Cuba. Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Michelle Rodriguez, and Gibson return, along with new faces, Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren.
