Common continues to dominate the big screen, but this time it’s a remake of an old favorite that has the actor intrigued.
The rapper will produce and star in MGM’s remake of “Cooley High” with DeVon Franklin and Tony Krantz also producing, Variety reports. Seth Rosenfeld will write the script for the remake.
The original film was set in 1964 Chicago and focused on a pair of high school seniors who are best friends — played by Glynn Turman and Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs — during the final weeks of the school year. No word on Common’s role in the movie.
