If you follow Columbus Short on Instagram, you might’ve been surprised to see him pop up on your timeline on Thursday afternoon because the former Scandal star should be locked up. Right? But turns out, the actor got released very, very early.
Earlier this week, Short was sentenced to 30 days behind bars and six months at an in-patient drug rehab program for violation of probation and marijuana use stemming from a 2014 assault case. But after only a short six days of being locked up, the troubled star was released.
On Thursday afternoon, Short posted several images to make one large picture of himself on Instagram, only captioning a few of the boxes. “If God is for you how can anyone be against you,” he wrote.
Following his short sting in jail, the 33-year-old told Entertainment Tonight exclusively, “I’m feeling grateful for the learning lesson and I’m fully accountable for my mistakes. I’m ready to get to work and never go back to that place. God is good.”
Short’s progress report hearing has been scheduled for June 28.
