Johnny Gill is livid over Sinead O’Connor’s recent allegations and comments towards his good friend, Arsenio Hall.

Gill stopped by the HipHollywood loft on Thursday and shared his thoughts on O’Connor’s allegations that Hall not only was Prince’s drug dealer, but that he spiked the marijuana she was given during a post Grammy event at Eddie Murphy’s house.

“With her, because that’s my brother and family always comes first and I’m always going to have my brothers back … All I can say to her is ‘if this is what you think, this is what you thought, at the end of the day, why are you coming now?”

He continued, “If I had to weigh out between this being honest and coming from an honest place and sincere place versus someone being a straight lunatic, I’ll take a lunatic for 100 million. F*ckin nuts.”

A passionate Gill then said “And yes I said, tell her to come after me. You’re a f*ckin nut. Crazy identities with crazy.¬†Arsenio’s the nice guy, I’m the crazy one.”

Following O’Connor’s egregious comments posted publicly on Facebook, Hall launched a $5 million libel lawsuit against the singer.

“I talk to Arsenio everyday,” Gill told us. “We’ve all been in the business for many years and have been attacked from something of somewhere or from someone or another, this is not the first. I think he’s doing it the best way he’s supposed to do it. Allow his lawyers to handle it and take care of it.”

In response to the talk show host’s lawsuit, O’Connor went back to Facebook and wrote:

“I’m more amused than I’ve ever dreamed a person could be and look forward very much to how hilarious it will be watching him trying to prove me wrong,” she wrote.¬†“I’m also very happy to notice that the DEA have taken me seriously enough to be thoroughly questioning all of Prince’s friends and aides from the last thirty years as to his KNOWN history of hard drug use and where he obtained his drugs. I do not like drugs killing musicians.”

O’Connor concluded, “And I do not like Arsenio Hall. He can suck my d*ck.”

Lashing out at Sinead and calling her names when she has a diagnosed mental illness is pretty low. I’m familiar with her musical catalogue and her activism over the years being a voice for victims of sexual abuse in the catholic church when nobody believed their claims, I’ve watched/read interviews she’s done, etc. Whether or not you like her music, it’s hard to find something that doesn’t come from a place of real honesty if you’re familiar with her. Perhaps this is the first time, as anything’s possible, but she just doesn’t have a history of making up vicious lies. Having a mental illness doesn’t make someone a crazy liar. Sure, she’s been crass and angry in internet posts in the past, but as far as I’ve seen those angry posts reflect her being honestly pissed off about real things: anger at sexual abuse in the church, anger at music business managers and agents ripping off musicians, anger at the media and the music industry for exploiting women’s sexuality, anger at her family over a custody dispute. Those are some legitimate, honest beefs. If you watch interviews she’s done over the years, you’ll see that she’s very smart and articulate, and she’s informed when she speaks on a topic. There just isn’t a pattern or history of wacky fabrication. I’m just a fan and I’ve never met her, and of course it could be the first time, but I just feel compelled to point out how unlikely it seems to be that she’s not coming from a place of honesty. Something obviously happened that pissed her off and she seems to believe there’s a drug connection.

wow, are you serious ? She is prone to blurts of madness and I live in the same country as her and if her dressing up as a priest is somehow “helping” abuse victims or anybody else is questionable , one thing she is good at is jumping on bandwagons and here we have a fine example, she withheld information for a long long time and no doubt is set to ride the wave of publicity generated like a professional surfer
