With fans and fellow entertainers still mourning the loss of Prince, it was only a matter of time before award shows began announcing their plans for a proper tribute. The first show following the Purple One’s untimely death is the Billboard Music Awards, but you probably won’t be able to guess who they’ve tapped to honor the legendary singer.
According to a press release from Billboard, “Madonna will pay tribute to her friend and fellow artist, Prince, at the “2016 Billboard Music Awards.” That’s right, the “Like A Virgin” singer will hit the stage to honor her friend and belt out some of Prince’s most memorable songs.
What do you think of this decision? On point or waaaaay off? Let us know in the comment section below.
The “2016 Billboard Music Awards” will be hosted by Ludacris and Ciara, and will broadcast LIVE from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on ABC.
