In what just may be the best news we’ve heard about Columbus Short all year, the troubled star is reportedly heading to rehab.  According to The Jasmine Brand, the former Scandal actor will be attending an outpatient facility in the Los Angeles area for around 4 to 6 months.

Per a source close to the actor, Short will have to report to the facility a few times a week, and will be subject to random drug testing. He also has been given additional community service to complete, and is subject to jail if he violates probation again.

Just last week it was reported that the actor, 33, had tested positive for cocaine and marijuana, and was in danger of violating his probation. Short was scheduled to appear in front of an L.A. judge on May 9 regarding the matter. It is not clear if the judge ordered Short to attend rehab, or if he is entering voluntarily.

Back in September, Short was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, two months of community labor, and anger management counseling after assaulting a man outside Gabe’s Bar and Grill in Los Angeles in 2014. The dancer turned actor has openly admitted to having substance abuse issues, and revealed during an interview with Access Hollywood Live in 2014, that his addiction to drugs and alcohol, along with family stress, was the reason he was booted from the ABC drama Scandal.
