It looks like “The Voice,” as in Whitney Houston, will be performing via hologram on The Voice very soon. According to Entertainment Tonight, the legendary singer, who was often referred to as “The Voice,” will be making a posthumous appearance on the NBC singing competition this season.
A source confirms to ET that a hologram of Houston will appear on an episode of The Voice for a special duet performance. The news comes after rumors began to swirl late last week that Christina Aguilera would be performing a tribute to the late singer on The Voice after photos and videos surfaced on social media of Aguilera singing with Houston’s hologram on The Voice stage.
Aguilera was tight-lipped when asked about the rumored duet, but said something big is planned for the series finale, Tuesday, May 24 . “I am sworn to secrecy,” she said. “I can’t say anything, but I’m very excited about the finale. Very exciting things happening.”
The Houston hologram was created by Hologram USA, the makers behind the Tupac Shakur, Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson holograms. The company announced back in 2015 that it would be working with Pat Houston, President of the Whitney Houston estate, to create a hologram of the late singer, which will perform its own headlining show in 2016.
