When Rihanna isn’t singing and shaking her a** on stage, she’s offering scholarships to students around the world. Kudos!
Rih Rih has just announced a global scholarship program through her Clara Lionel Foundation, which will award scholarships to international and US students attending a US college. “To be able to give the gift of an education is actually an honor,” Rihanna stated in an announcement. “Higher education will help provide perspective, opportunities and learning to a group of kids who really deserve it. I am thrilled to be able to do this.”
In order to be eligible, applicants must be residents of Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Guyana, Jamaica, or the U.S., and have already been accepted into a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the 2016-2017 year.
You have until June 10th to complete the scholarship application and winners will be announced in August. Scholarships granted will range from $5,000 to $50,000 and Rihanna says the goal is to accept as many students as possible.
A little good news on this Tuesday feels great!
