After 30 decades of being in the music industry, Johnny Gill is still climbing the r&b charts and making hit records.

Johnny, who just celebrated is 50th birthday, is currently celebrating his single “This One’s For Me And You” rising to the top of the r&b charts.

According to Gill, the track, featuring Gill’s New Edition band mates, was magical and was something he really took time to do.”I understand that this was going to take time. It’s going to take some patience and I’m on nobody’s clock,” he told HipHollywood during a recent chat about the success of his single.

The song, which is on the singer’s hit album, Game Changer, is also a record that if it weren’t for Jamie Foxx might not have been made.

Still Winning, the album prior to Game Changer, was the singer’s first LP in a whopping 16 years. “He said ‘man, you know, there’s a void that’s missing. There’s no more Gerald, there’s no more Luther … He says ‘I have a studio at my crib. I have an engineer. My studio is yours, man. We need you,'” he told us.

“This One’s for Me and You” is available for purchase on iTunes, Google play and Amazon.
