On Saturday family and friends gathered at Prince’s Paisley Park estate to pay their respects and say their final goodbyes to the iconic singer who died on Thursday. The 57 year old singer’s service was not open to fans, but rather close friends and family, including his longtime collaborator/protégé Sheila E., who sat down exclusively with Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner on Sunday about the emotional service. “It was very somber,” she shared. “It was sad.”

The intimate memorial was reportedly limited to about 20 people including model Damaris Lewis, singer Judith Hill, bassist Larry Graham and Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson. The musical genius’ classic tunes played softly in the background, paying tribute to his illustrious career.

“What was challenging yesterday was listening to his music at a very low soft volume and the room very low in lights and everyone just taking a moment, just sitting there, kind of going, ‘Wow,’ [in] disbelief,” she said.

The 58 year old singer did however provide a spark of hope for those looking to celebrate the singer’s life.  “We’re hoping to make Paisley what [Prince wanted] it to be. [He] was working on it being a museum,” she shared. “He’s been gathering memorabilia and stuff from all the tours, like my drums and his motorcycle.”

And she also said there is a huge tribute in the works. “I’m supposed to be the one musical director to put his tribute together with all of the original people and we hope that that happens,” Sheila E. said. “We’re working on it, we’ll see what happens… the plan is to have something here in Minneapolis.”

On Thursday, April 21, Prince was found unresponsive in the elevator of his Paisely Park compound. His reps have said that he suffered from the flu in the days leading up to his death, but many others have reported the singer suffered from an addiction to painkillers.

Sheila E. addressed those rumors while speaking to Extra, stating: “Those have been squashed because the Sheriff came out and said there was no foul play…All I know is he had a cold and he hated being sick.”
