Whether it’s a favorite line, movie or song, everybody has a favorite Will Smith moment. And for folks at the MTV Movie Awards, the general consensus was the actor’s popular 90’s sitcom, Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
Smith will be honored with the Generation Award during the 25th Anniversary Movie Awards for his impeccable talent and contribution to the film industry. So while on the red carpet for the taping of the show, HipHollywood asked a few stars what was Will’s stand out moment for them.
For Lilly Singh, it was an episode on Fresh Prince where Will was emotional over his relationship with his father. And for Empire star, TaRhonda Jones, it was Smith’s role in Pursuit of Happiness that ultimately provided a life lesson. “It pretty much taught me a lot during this process. Whatever you got going on, you don’t let nothing stop you from your dreams.”
Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a dynamic duo that many can’t resist, will host the awards show. Meanwhile, it’s the N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton that fans also can’t resist given it’s multiple nominations.
The movie received three nominations, three acknowledgements N.W.A’s DJ Yella tells revealed to HipHollywood is well deserved. “Three nominations,” the emcee said.
