Bethenny Frankel is in hot water once again for making controversial remarks, but this time it has nothing to do with her Real Housewives of New York crowd. This, is much more serious!
Frankel, the founder of Skinny Girl Vodka, was the keynote speaker at Rent The Runway’s Project Entrepreneur intensive. Tapped to give her insight into the business world, many women signed up to hear Bethenny’s advice. But one woman, Mary Pryor, was shocked to hear that Frankel’s advice included using sex to get ahead and telling Black women that White men needed to be the face of their organizations.
In an article for Huffington Post, Pryor expressed her initial feeling during the woman’s entrepreneurial summit.
“I was stunned when Frankel implied that women should have sex with men in exchange for capital. I was offended when she expressed some kind of kinship with black women because she’s ‘loud.’ And I was taken aback when she advised those of us in the room to get business advice to hire a white man as the face of our companies.”
Mary also offered a tweet-by-tweet account of her experience at the event. One that, despite Bethenny’s offensive comments, seem to celebrate diversity among business woman. Click through the gallery to read all of Mary’s tweets and Frankel’s response. It’s worth noting that Bethenny denies the whole account.
