Boxer Manny Pacquiao is persona non grata at The Grove over remarks he made about gays earlier this year. Manny was at the Los Angeles area shopping complex this week to watch a film, and after he left, management announced he was not welcome back.
“The Grove prides itself on promoting a sense of diversity and inclusion. We are a central gathering place in Los Angeles. We don’t support individuals or groups who are proponents of hate towards any part of our population”, a Grove spokesperson tells HipHollywood.
“Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome,” Grove owner Rick Caruso added in an interview with TMZ. “These are statements of hatred,” Caruso said. “A lot of people from the gay community come to the Grove and they have a right not to feel uncomfortable.
Manny made headlines after comparing gay people to animals and then publishing a biblical reference about homosexuality being punishable by death.
