Mob Wives star Angela Raiola aka Big Ang passed away early Thursday morning after a long battle with cancer. Ang was 55.
A family member of the reality star confirmed the news with an emotional message posted on Big Ang’s Twitter page. According to Vinnie Medungo, Ang died while at the hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
In March 2015 is when the reality star’s journey with cancer began. Doctors discovered a lemon-size tumor in Raiola’s throat, which was removed. Three months later, the 55-year-old underwent surgery again for the right side of her throat. Sadly, not long after, Ang was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer.
Just last month, Mob Wives star, Renee Graziano, revealed to HipHollywood that her co-star just needed prayers. “Let’s pray for her,” she told us exclusively. “I really don’t like to talk too much about her health because I feel it’s really for her. But the cancer did come back, sadly it’s stage four. It has advanced. So prayers is what we should be doing. Just pray for her.”
Renee took to Twitter following reports of Ang’s death to send her condolences to the family. The reality star also shared a cryptic tweet that read:
RIP Big Ang.
