Earlier this week, Christina Milian came under fire for posting a video of her 5-year-0ld daughter pretending to do a makeup tutorial.
In the visual, Violet Madison can be seen doing a demo using different products, including popular line, NARS. By the end of the clip, Milan’s daughter had a perfectly beat, contoured face.
Many thought the video was adorable, after all, girls do love to have fun, but others criticized Christina for allowing her daughter to become so advanced with makeup.
HipHollywood caught up with the Christina Milian Turned Up star to talk about the backlash and according to the singer, it was all in fun. “It’s ok, I totally get it. Parents handle everything different,” she told us exclusively. “It was actually a joke, my sister and I did her makeup. Everyone thinks my daughter did it.”
“We had seen a couple of little kids do the same thing before. My sister, as kids, we’ve always been notorious for like ‘lets film it, lets do this.’ We literally were joking about it. It took 30 minutes … She doesn’t care to put on makeup guys. It was all in fun.”
This isn’t the first time the reality star has been shamed for her parenting style. Last year, the singer was forced to defend herself after allowing Violet to wear crochet braids.
“For those of you more concerned with Violet’s hair (understandably cause you just don’t know) her hair isn’t in the twists, it’s another method used where they are tied to her corn rows,” she wrote on Instagram. “The hair isn’t heavy. If you’ve ever grabbed a bag of afri braiding hair you know they are very light weight. But just trying new things. Violet likes it and it’s not damaging.”
