We love unselfish folk, and today, we are thanking J. Cole for putting our needs before his.

While most of us enjoy receiving gifts for our birthdays, the North Carolina rapper is switching things up and giving his fans a present in celebration of his own birthday.

Today, January 28, is J. Cole’s 31st birthday, and we are helping the rapper celebrate with the release of his surprise, live version of Forest Hills Drive.

The project, complete with 13 tracks, was recorded during the rapper’s show in fall 2015 from the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C. This is the same performance featured in the HBO documentary Film Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming.

“History turned into an album,” Cole tweeted.
