Ronda Rousey must be going through withdrawals because HipHollywood knows exclusively just what winning feels like to the MMA fighter.
“There is no stronger drug in the world than winning,” Rousey told us exclusively earlier this year.
Unfortunately, the athlete was stripped of her drugs over the weekend when she was knocked out by veteran female boxer, Holly Holm, in the second round.
The big loss was the first in 12 UFC fights for Rousey, who also explained to HipHollywood that usually, when she wins, “My basking period is like a week and I live for that week.”
“After I win, I have this week where I’m just walking on sunshine, nothing can bother me, I’m supposed to just eat everything and just lounge around. It’s very hard for me to rest, but I feel like I earned that rest and I just revel in it. And after that week is over, I feel like I need that fix again.”
Following the fight, Ronda was taken to a nearby hospital to get treatment for cuts and an apparent concussion. The knockout came as a shock for many, and of course, for the 28-year-old as well, who confirmed on Instagram on Monday morning that “I’m going to take a little bit of time, but I’ll be back.”
