Congratulations are in order for Brandon Jennings and Lashonte Heckard; the couple welcomed their first child together on Thursday, November 5.
The delivery was kept very quiet, but over the weekend, Jennings took to Twitter to explain why he didn’t initially reveal the news on social media.
“You think you know but you have no idea,” the Pistons player wrote in a series of tweets. “Y’all just 3 days late. I mean I do have a job. My child isn’t for social media attention. #Watchout.”
The NBA player did however share with fans that the apparent couple’s baby boy weighed in at 7lbs, 11ounces and was 19 1/2 inches.
Jennings, who has been out this season due to a torn achilles, explained to Michigan Live that before hopping on a flight to be back with his team on Friday, he watched his son “pop out” and then “I had to go.”
Back in June, Jennings revealed in a tweet that he was “single,” so it’s unclear if the duo has reconciled, but it seems like the athlete is happy to be a father for the third time.
