Eddie Murphy broke out his Bill Cosby impersonation while receiving the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday night. The legendary comedian asked if Cosby had been told to return the same award after dozens of women accused the disgraced star of sexual assault.

“Bill has one of these. Did you all make him give it back? You know you f*cked up when they want you to give your trophies back,” Murphy joked before breaking into his Cosby impersonation. “I would like to talk to the people who think I should give back my motherf*ckin’ trophies. You may have heard that I allegedly put the pill in the people’s stomach… if I ever see or meet this Hannibal Buress in person I am going to try and kill this man!”

The outing marked the Beverly Hills Cop’s first joke on a stage in 28 years. As for an official return to standup, Murphy revealed in a red carpet chat with the AP that anything is possible. ”Maybe, not soon but eventually I’m dropping something else and telling jokes again and all that stuff … eventually.”

The Twain Prize ceremony airs on PBS on November 23.
