The names of some of the innocent lives taken during Wednesday night’s horrific Charleston massacre have been identified by friends and family.
The suspected killer, 21-year-old Dylann Roof, entered the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church during bible study and opened fire, killing 6 women and 3 men, including the pastor, state senate, Clementa C. Pinckney.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims loved ones.
Reverend Clementa C. Pinckney was a popular pastor within the community. Not only was he a strong public figure, but he also served as state senator. The 41-year-old was the father to two children, Eliana and Malana. Pinckney received his first appointment as a pastor at age 18, was first elected to the state’s House of Representatives at age 23 and at 27, was elected to the state Senate.
