Kelly Rowland shocked fans in May 2013 when she dropped a track called “Dirty Laundry,” a song about being “in a rage” by a man who put “his hands on me.”

“I’m on the kitchen floor, he took the keys/ I was mad at everybody, I mean everybody,” she sings. “Yeah, her, her, her, her everybody, Five years later, I got my shit down phat/ Think I had it good, and they don’t know how bad/ Fooled everybody, Except myself, soaking in this hurt/ Bathing in the dirt.”

During an intimate performance in June 2013, she broke down in tears while delivering the emotional track.
