Iggy Azalea is walking away from social media.
The rapper took to Twitter on Thursday morning and revealed that because of the “Internet” and it’s “ugliest reflection on man kind,” her management team will be taking over her social media accounts. The rapper says the “pettiness” she sees online makes her an “angry person.”
“Just got back from a great vacation, came online and saw apparently it’s shocking and unheard of to be a woman and have cellulite. Lol,” she wrote. “I just want to have peace and relaxation time without a perve with long distance lense hiding out taking pictures, everyone deserves peace. I feel the hatred and pettiness i see online at all times is at making me become an angry person and I cannot be that. To become nasty because of the way I feel iam treated would be a disservice to my fans and I promise i will try to keep smiling. But I also want to let my fans know iam taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining.”
She continued, “My management will tweet/run my accounts from today onwards with updates etc unless any message is signed -IA. Love you all. Peace out! The Internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is.”
Iggy and her boyfriend, Nick Young, spent Valentine’s Day weekend in Hawaii where she was also photographed showing off her figure in a red, two piece bikini. After paparazzi photos surfaced, the media and fans made some ill comments about her backside.
“The implants are drifting,” one commenter wrote.
During she and the Lakers player’s getaway, the Grammy Award nominated rapper shared this snapshot of she and her boo with the caption:
“Happy Valentine’s Day all the way from Hawaii. I love yooooouuuu @swaggyp1.”
