Well this was a shock!
If you turned on the radio this morning and expected to hear Big Boy, you were sadly mistaken. The Radio DJ was no where to be
seen heard and in his place, just music. It seems as though Big Boy has left his own “neighborhood”.
Apparently, Big Boy was making a cool $1.45 million (plus bonuses and a car) with Emmis, the communications group that ran “Big Boy’s Neighborhood”. Well his contract was up and he decided the $3.5 million (plus perks and use of a private jet) that iHeartMedia was offering was even cooler, so he jumped ship and headed over top the competition.
Unfortunately, Emmis is saying not. so. fast! They claim their contract with Big Boy says they can match a competitor’s offer and keep him and that’s what they did, but the music man left anyway. Emmis is now suing asking a judge to prevent Big Boy from bailing, plus they also want $5 million!
