Lil Kim gave birth to her first child earlier this year, but the New York rapper isn’t letting motherhood slow her down. HipHollywood caught up with the hip-hop legend in Las Vegas on Thursday night where she was rehearsing for an upcoming Soul Train Awards performance with a couple of old friends.
Kim will take the stage with fellow “Not Tonight” singers Missy Elliot and Da Brat for the performance. “I’m just really excited to see my friends” the new mom told us about hitting the stage with the ladies for the first time since 1998. “Missy Elliot is my sister. She’s a longterm friend and just someone that I love dearly,” Kim continued.
The 39-year-old rapper also dropped her Hardcore mixtape in September and says motherhood inspired the release. “After I and my baby, I was like I have to get right to it … I have to make sure that that baby has everything and doesn’t want for nothing.”
You can watch Kim hit the stage on BET, November 30th.
