K. Michelle is saying that she does not have beef because she is a vegetarian.
HipHollywood caught up with K. Tuesday night on the red carpet for ASCAP’s Women Behind The Music event where she was being honored for her accomplishments as a writer and performer.
“I put a lot of time into my music and it can get overshadowed by a lot of things, like my big mouth,” Michelle told HipHollywood. “So it’s very exciting to be honored for the contributions to music and how dedicated I am to my craft.”
ASCAP’s Women Behind the Music series was created to encourage and honor women in the music community. The series honors not just singers and songwriters but also female executives and others in the music industry including label executives, managers, music publishers, and attorneys.
Motown’s Myisha Brooks was also one of the of the evening’s honorees along with Billboard magazine’s senior editor, Gail Mitchell. Watch the video above to see coverage of the event.
