Alan Thicke somehow steered off course over the weekend when asked about his son, Robin Thicke’s emotional well being.
During Saturday night’s Mercedes Benz Carousel of Hope event, HipHollywood questioned Alan about Robin’s emotional state following Paula Patton’s divorce filing. But instead of answering the question head on, the reality star deflected and began talking about his son’s artistry.
“Robin is just the greatest father and that’s why I’m so proud of him,” he told us. “Beyond that he’s an artist and we all want our artists to be approachable, vulnerable, we want them to be honest and authentic. Nobody is more authentic than Robin.”
As previously reported, Paula filed for divorce earlier this month in Los Angeles and cited “irreconcilable differences” for the cause of the split. The actress is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old son, Julian Fuego.
