T.I. is addressing claims that he writes Iggy Azalea’s rhymes.
The 33-year-old rapper quickly shot down claims that he was the Australian MC’s ghostwriter during a recent interview with Bijou Star TV in Detroit.
“I ain’t no ghostwriter,” T.I. told the interviewer. “Iggy got her own ideas and thoughts that she presents to the world her own way. I couldn’t write a lot of the shit she say, you know? I couldn’t put her thoughts into words as articulate as she does. You know what I’m saying? She just has a different way of presenting herself and her art. So, I mean, Now don’t get me wrong, everybody in the studio helps with hooks and certain things like that. That goes for me and any of the other top five rappers, performers … You want the best ideas.”
Iggy has been fighting claims that T.I. ghostwrites her rhymes ever since she signed to his Grand Hustle label. During the BET Awards this year, Nicki Minaj even threw shade her way during an acceptance speech where she made reference to other MCs not writing there own lyrics.
Although he danced around the question a little bit, we are sure that Iggy is happy that her boss is going out and legitimizing her skills behind the mic.
