Sherri Shepherd has been battling a nasty divorce from estranged husband, Lamar Sally, and now, the host’s ex-husband, Jeffrey Tarpley is slamming the star for being a bad mother.
According to TMZ, Tarpley, the father of Sherri’s 9-year-old son, Jeffrey, is claiming that Sherri is the mom from hell and he wants full custody of their son. According to the news outlet, Tarpley filed an emergency request in April to modify the couple’s current custody arrangement.
According to Tarpley, Shepherd’s hectic schedule working on “The View,” “The Newlywed Game,” and different ventures has caused her to “neglect their son completely.”
Per TMZ, Jeffrey claims that their son can barely write, that he reads at a 2nd-grade level and that can’t tie his shoes. Tarpley also claims that Shepherd leaves young Jeffrey with “unskilled nannies” and because of that, he’s falling way behind in school and suffers from low self-esteem.
Sherri and her son live in New Jersey and Jeffrey lives in California and he wants to change that. The View co-host, is doing all she can to keep her son. She has also filed documents claiming that Jeffrey is not a good father who isn’t there for his son.
A custody court hearing is set for July. Tarpley and Sherri were married for eight years before their split in 2009.
Meanwhile, Shepherd is also fighting for custody for her un-born child via surrogate with Sally. Sally filed for divorce earlier this month. They were married for three years before calling it quits.
