When it came to directing Godzilla, Gareth Edwards’ motto was go big or go home. So it’s no surprise he cast Bryan Cranston, who played one of the biggest characters on TV on the hit series Breaking Bad.
HipHollywood sat down with Edwards, as well as Cranston, who revealed his excitement to finally put his infamous character Walter White behind him. “If you’re lucky you get a role of a lifetime like that,” said Cranston. “Now for the rest of my life the goal is to go in a different direction from him.”
In the film, Cranston plays a research scientist who tries to warn everyone of Godzilla’s return, while his son, played by Aaron Tyler Johnson, tries desperately to get back home to his wife and son.
