Has technology gone too far?
That’s the questioned posed in the new film Transcendence and that’s the question HipHollywood asked one of the film’s stars, Morgan Freeman. “Technology gives us power. We have this power but we could blow ourselves up,” Freeman, who plays computer expert Joseph Tagger, told HH.
The sci-fi flick, also stars Johnny Depp as Dr. Will Caster, an Artificial Intelligence researcher who works to create sentient machines that combine all-knowing intellect with the full range of human emotion. Things take a dramatic turn when Deep’s character is actually the one who transcends.
Kate Mara and Paul Bettany, who star alongside Depp and Freeman, also gave their take on the state of technology and if they think we’re headed for doom.
Take a look at our interviews with the cast of Transcendence and catch the film when it hits theaters Friday, April 18th!
