When it comes time for praise and worship, why not belt out Beyonce and Jay Z’s “Drunk in Love” … But the gospel version of course.
In a video posted on YouTube, singer LaThelma sings her rendition of “Drunk in Love” with a unique twist. In the video, you see the singer enter a church before taking a seat on a pew.
“I’ve been praying I’ve been praying / I can’t keep quiet when that spirit gets into me,” she sings. “I’ve been thinking, I’ve been thinking / Why can’t your people see they need you, Jesus?”
And while initially you might think this is a tad over the top or maybe even a bit blasphemous, rest assured LaThemla has an incredible voice and the lyrics to the re-make are absolutely touching and moving.
