Beyonce was very emotional on Thursday night as she ended her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. The singer, who made her last stop at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal, broke down in tears while addressing her fans.
“If you all don’t know, tonight makes 132 shows. Tonight is the last show of the Mrs. Carter Show. We started a year ago and I want to say this has been such a journey,” she said. “In the past year, we’ve been through so much together. The Super Bowl, shooting the videos, all of these shows. When I first started the tour, my baby was not even walking yet. I just want you to know that I am so lucky.”
“I’m giving y’all an ugly cry,” the 32-year-old said while tears fell down her “Flawless” face. “Thank y’all again. Thank you for allowing me to have a career. And when I fall, you lift me up. When I’m hungry, you feed me. And I just want to give you my light. I dedicate this song to you.”
Beyonce kicked off her world tour Apr. 15, 2013 in Belgrade, Serbia and his spent nearly a year performing for her number one fans and literally changing lives. During the singer’s trek, she dropped a record breaking, surprise visual album which quickly became No. 1 on the Billboard charts.
By the way, the tour brought in a whopping $188.6 million from the first 107 shows and was the highest grossing female tour of 2013.
