It appears Tyler, the Creator and Odd Future’s rambunctious antics have finally caught up with them. The group was banned from entering New Zealand this week because they “pose a threat to public order.”
Odd Future was set to perform at a concert this weekend alongside headliner, Eminem.
Border Operations Manager Karen Urwin said authorities decided to decline the group’s visas because of a 2011 incident in Boston. “It’s not a decision we take lightly and not one that happens often,” Urwin said. The rappers allegedly urged fans to attack police officers during an incident at a comic bookstore.
Tyler, The Creator took to Twitter on Thursday to share his thoughts on being banned:
“They said we were ‘terrorist threats and bad for the society’ or whatever. Sick,” he wrote. He later tweeted, “I love NZ tho.”
According to the AP, a move is underway in Australia to have the group banned from entering that country as well.
