Dr. Dre has filed a lawsuit against Death Row Records for $3 million in unpaid royalties.
According to legal documents obtained by Radar Online, the legendary hip-hop producer is seeking $676k in unpaid royalties for his album, The Chronic. He’s also asking for $1.2 million in unpaid artist-producer royalties as well as $1.179 million in digital sales.
Death Row Records, Dre’s former label, filed for bankruptcy in 2006 but was purchased by the WIDEawake Entertainment Group, Inc for $18 million.
Dre was named the third richest artist in hip-hop by Forbes last year, taking home $40 million. That being said, we’re not sure he’s exactly hurting for the $3 million he’s seeking.
