B.J. the Chicago Kid has worked with some of the music industry’s top artists including Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, R. Kelly and Kanye West.
Still, when it comes to reflecting on one of the most memorable moments of his career, BJ says meeting Kanye and Kendrick can’t even compare to an encounter he had with one legendary singer. The artist revealed that unforgettable moment to HipHollywood on the red carpet of the ASCAP Grammy Nominees Brunch.
“I was blessed to meet Teddy Pendegrass at his house and just to be questioned by someone of such status as he, RIP, it was just an amazing journey, it’s been an amazing trip,” he revealed. “He gave me tips on how to help keep going and how to receive what this industry will bring you. It was very exciting, I’ll never forget it.”
