The L.A. County Coroner’s Office said on Wednesday that Fast and Furious star, Paul Walker, died from “combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries” sustained from last weekend’s tragic car accident.
Walker and his friend, business partner Roger Rodas, died in a fiery crash on Saturday afternoon in Santa Clarita, Ca. The red Porsche Carrera GT, driven by Rodas, burst into flames after slamming into a pole and a tree. According to the coroner’s, Rodas died of “multiple traumatic injuries.” Both deaths have been ruled as an accident.
The coroner’s office also said that toxicology reports on both bodies will be completed in six to eight weeks.
In the wake of Paul’s death, production for Fast and Furious 7 will be delayed until further notice. “At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise,” a representative for Universal said in a statement on Wednesday.
