Pitbull might be Mr. Worldwide, but he won’t be visiting the land down under anytime soon.
The rapper, alongside singer Ke$ha, was set to start his tour in Australia on October 30th, but he announced this weekend the tour has been canceled.
“Regrettably the promoter is cancelling the Australian tour, refunds will be available at point of purchase. We hope to return to Australia in the not too distant future,” he posted on Facebook page, sharing the bad news to fans.
While Promoter Paul Dainty confirmed the cancelation on his website, it hasn’t been cited yet as to exactly why. It has been speculated that the tours’ ticket sales were extremely low, in part because of his tour mate Ke$ha. Many fans have expressed on his Facebook page their disappointment about their collaboration, and Ke$ha hasn’t had the best success overseas lately. Her most recent single, “Crazy Kids” peaked at No. 32 in Australia.
The tour was set to start in Brisbane, and continue in Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The good news is that fans can get a full refund for their tickets, but bad news is they’ll have to wait to see the rapper another time.
