Welcome back, Ja.
50 Cent’s favorite rapper was released from prison back in May after spending nearly two years behind bars for failing to pay taxes. It’s taken the Queens native almost five months to put out any new music, but this week, that music finally arrived.
On Wednesday evening, Ja Rule released “Fresh Out Da Pen.” The tune features the rapper’s signature raspy vocals with the typical bravado-laced lyrics we’ve come to expect from most hip-hop artists.
“The wait is over!!!” Ja tweeted after the song’s Hot 97 radio debut, adding on Thursday morning, “It’s hard to beat a man that won’t quit … I love the fact that anything I do sparks debate.”
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Ja. Listen to “Fresh Out Da Pen” below and let us know if you think it sparked debate.
