Usher is finally speaking out after his 5-year-old son nearly drowned in his Atlanta pool Monday afternoon.
“I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering,” Usher wrote in a statement.
“I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being. I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock,” The Voice coach added.
The singer then thanked the men who saved his son’s life. “I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son’s life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them,” the actor stated.
Usher Raymond V was swimming at the bottom of the pool when his arm got stuck in the drain. The two “heroes” were at the residence at the time, pulled little Usher from the drain and performed CPR, saving the boys life.
U.R. V was rushed Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite, where he is currently being held for observation. The 5-year-old is reportedly doing well and in high spirits.
