August 9, 2013 marks what would have been iconic singer Whitney Houston’s 50th Birthday. Our Kevin Frazier spoke exclusively with the Houston family who revealed how they intend to spend what should be a joyous day for the family.
“We are celebrating with a private dinner at our home here in Georgia,” Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston shared. “That was one of Whitney’s favorite birthday celebrations.”
“It’s a very emotional time for all of us but she would want us to celebrate with peace, love and happiness,” Pat continued. “Today we celebrate a legacy of a matchless gift: Whitney Houston. The last song she recorded was ‘Come on and Celebrate’ written by R. Kelly. To all of her fans, let’s celebrate with with divine peace, love and joy,” she added.
Whitney Elizabeth Houston passed away on February 11, 2012 as the result of an accidental drowning insider her Beverly Hilton hotel room; heart disease and cocaine use were listed as contributing factors in the coroner’s report.
Houston was 48 at the time.
