Beyonce took a moment of silence during her show in Nashville on Saturday night after news broke that George Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
“I’d like to have a moment of silence for Trayvon,” the singer said before singing the chorus to “I Will Always Love You.” After the classic love song, Bey went right in to “Halo.”
Beyonce was just one of several celebrities who reacted to the news. Young Jeezy took to Facebook to share with his fans how he felt. The rapper posted a song called “It’s a Cold World (A Tribute To Trayvon Martin),” on the social media website.
“I am in no way shape, form, or fashion … trying to capitalize off of the latest series of events. These are my true feelings and my form of expression about it,” he wrote.
