HipHollywood has learned why Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was missing from the Los Angeles premiere of Pain & Gain on Monday night.
The action star was undergoing emergency surgery after tearing his abdomen and abductor muscles during a wrestling match earlier this month. The 40-year-old WWE superstar announced the news on his Twitter page over the weekend, writing:
“Saw my doctor who had to push my intestines back through the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic. Surgery is next week. #BringItOn.”
On Tuesday, The Rock updated fans on his status, saying that the surgery had gone well. He also shared this picture of himself recovering in the hospital with his followers.
