Looks like the “God Forgives, I Don’t” rapper is looking for a little forgiveness himself.
After receiving TONS of backlash for stating: “Put molly all in her champagne / She ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed tha t/ She ain’t even know it”, in his song “U.O.E.N.O.”, Rick Ross has now tweeted an apology.
“I don’t condone rape. Apologies for the #lyric interpreted as rape. #BOSS.”
This comes after Ross claimed his lyrics were just taken the wrong way. “There was a misunderstanding with the lyric, a misinterpretation”, the self-proclaimed Bawse told New Orleans’ Q93.3 last week.
The debate over the obviously offensive lyric has even caught the attention of rapper Talib Kweli. “I don’t care if Rick Ross is 40 years old — he’s a misguided 40-year-old person”, Kweli told the Huffington Post, “Rick Ross condoned rape in that song … and he should apologize, and his apology that he offered was unacceptable” he continued.
