HipHollywood has learned that Beyonce is working on a cover of the late Amy Winehouse’s hit song, “Back to Black”. The tune will be featured in upcoming film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, which Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z is executive producing.
“Not only is Jay-Z a great artist, full stop, but I had heard that he was a great collaborator,” director Baz Luhrmann said in a statement announcing the soundtrack. “Leonardo [DiCaprio] and I were lucky enough to be present in a recording session over two years ago as Jay-Z was recording ‘No Church in the Wild,’ and the collaboration grew from there.”
Rumored to be join King Bey on the soundtrack are Andre 3000, Prince, Lady Gaga and Hov, who will be lending his own vocals to a couple of tracks in addition to producing.
“The Great Gatsby” hits theaters on May 10.
