There is no doubt that Beyonce loves her hometown of Houston and its rich hip-hop legacy. She recently paid tribute to her roots on her “Bow Down/I Been On,” track and now she’s reportedly taking it to the next level with a remix featuring some H-town rap all-stars.
According to local Houston reporter Isiah Carey, the Texas gal has been quietly working on a remix. Carey writes on his website, “I received a call Wednesday that left me with some major entertainment news and I wasn’t able to snitch and tell the world. A nationally known rapper told me he and a long list of other entertainers would be in the studio in Houston recording a remix for Beyoncé’s controversial new song “Bow Down.”
He decided to blow the whistle after photos from studio sessions surfaced online writing, “That person said it would be Slim Thug, Willie D, Scarface, Bun B, Kirko Bangz, and Lil KeKe.”
Beyoncé shouts out some of Houston’s finest on the chopped and screwed record. “Shout out to Willie D. I was in that Willie D video when I was about 14, looking crazy,” she says. “Shout out to Pimp C. You know we used to sneak and listen to that UGK.”
