After fighting for her life the last two weeks, Demi Lovato has now released a statement to her fans.
In a heart-wrenching Instagram post, Lovato opens up about her addiction and states, “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
The “Sober” singer, who revealed in June (after 6 years of sobriety) that she had fallen off the wagon, thanked God, her family and fans for their encouraging words, love and support. She also thanked the staff at Cedars-Sinai, where she was transported after her overdose on July 24th, stating, “Without them I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you.”
Demi breaks her silence after reports surfaced the she has now been released from the hospital and is in a rehab center outside of California. TMZ reports that Lovato was released on Saturday and will stay at the facility for an extended period of time, but at least 30 days. In addition, Demi plans to cut off toxic friends that aided in derailing her sobriety.
